White Peak Ramble

On Sunday 9th March 2008 the members of the Sutton Rambling Club enjoyed a steady 10 mile ramble in a south-eastern pocket of the White Peak area predominantly to the west of Matlock.
The walk will start near Tax Farm (grid ref 295628) a couple of miles north of Matlock. We will then proceed west by the attractive wooded Two Dales valley and then further west across the Derwent River (shown to the right) for an early lunch break at Darley Bridge where inns are available for refreshments.
In the afternoon we continue West to explore Derbyshire"s secret dry valley namely Wensley Dale and then head south across moorland and farmland to Bonsall The walk is completed with a Via Gellia section and finishes a little further south near the National Stone Centre (grid ref 288552) ready for a 5.15 pm departure home.
New members are most welcome enjoying healthy exercise in attractive scenery amongst friendly company. There is no need to pre-book your seat on the coach.
